The ship's band on board the Orient Line cruise ship Oronsay (1925) during 'Spanish Night' entertainments
An informal photograph of the ship's band of six musicians posing with their instruments in one of the entertainment rooms on board the Orient line cruise ship Oronsay (1925). The clock indicates that the photograph was taken at 11.40. Their outfits are wide-brimmed hats, waist sashes and white shirts with two of them wearing bow ties. The negative is captioned 'Spanish Night'. The pianist has been tentatively identified as being Joseph Woodcock, who later became the pianist on board the Cunard White Star Line's Mauretania (1939) for her maiden voyage from Liverpool to New York commencing on Saturday 17 June 1939.
