South Atlantic medal awarded to Weapons Engineering Mechanic P.B. Lindsey, for service on HMS 'Ambuscade'. Obverse: Head of Queen Elizabeth II, crowned (right). Legend: 'ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA FID.DEF.' Reverse: On a shield the Arms of the Falkland Islands (a sheep with a ship below) motto on a ribbon below, between two branches of laurel. Legend: 'SOUTH ATLANTIC MEDAL'. Motto: 'DESIRE THE RIGHT'. The edge is inscribed: 'APOWEM (0) P B LINDSEY D083780H HMS AMBUSCADE 36'. Suspended by a straight clasp from a watered silk ribbon striped blue/white/green/white/blue with rosette.
