Teacup

A white bone china teacup with a gilded rim, base and handle, as used on Port Line vessels. The maker's mark and 'PORT LINE' is printed on the base. This pattern was described by the donor, a purser with Port Line, as the 'Early Morning Call' service (AAA5935 and AAA5936 are identical). The Port Line carried refrigerated cargo from Australia and New Zealand and manufactured goods on the outward journey; their ships also carried passengers. Blue Star and Port Lines operated under one management as Blue Star Port Lines from 1968.
