A starboard view just aft of the broadside of an unnamed three-masted, ship-rigged sailing vessel at anchor off Harwich. The stern is out of the photograph. In the distance behind the sailing vessel is the light cruiser HMS 'Penelope' (1914). The photographer was serving on HMS 'Aurora' (1913), a light cruiser based in the Harwich Force during World War One.
