Wounded soldiers seated with nurses at tables, Kents Green Court

A view of wounded soldiers seated at tables with Red Cross nurses in the grounds of Kents Green, Worcestershire. The tables are laid out along the grass verge of the drive, with the summer house[?] and lean-to greenhouse in the background.

Kents Green Court, Worcestershire was Hooper's family home. It is a large, (now) Grade II listed, Georgian house with extensive grounds.

The photographer was serving on HMS 'Aurora' (1913), a light cruiser based in the Harwich Force during World War One. From 27 April to 16 May 1917 HMS Aurora was in Chatham Dockyard being refitted and cleaned. He is not recorded as having left the ship. [ship's log, TNA, ADM 53/34996].
