Written above and below an outline of an Iron Cross with 'W II" in the top and bottom [possibly referring to Wilhelm II of Germany] are the words 'HMS AURORA. CONCERT PARTY [Iron Cross] FOR VALOUR 1916". A dog can be seen in the arms of one of the mandolin players. The occasion is described as Regatta Day, although N22682 describes the event as Sports Day.
