A port bow view of the light cruiser HMS 'Arethusa' (1913) aground on Cutler Shoal, off Woodbridge Haven and the river Deben. The forecastle back to the bridge is out of the water, after which the superstructure is underwater except for the funnels. 'Arethusa' hit a mine on 11 February off Felixstowe and ran aground on the Cutler Shoal when the tow broke.
The Cutler Shoal is a rocky shoal which lies about 2.3 miles E of the entrance to Woodbridge Haven and the river Deben.
