A detail view of the after area on the light cruiser HMS 'Arethusa' (1913) aground on Cutler Shoal.
A starboard side view taken from a ship's boat beside the first funnel of the light cruiser HMS 'Arethusa' (1913) looking aft from the second funnel to the stern. The decks are under water to the after rangefinder platform. Anchored alongside the starboard quarter is an unidentified steam drifter [same as in N22601]. 'Arethusa' hit a mine on 11 February off Felixstowe and ran aground on the Cutler Shoal when the tow broke.
The Cutler Shoal is a rocky shoal which lies about 2.3 miles E of the entrance to Woodbridge Haven and the river Deben.
