A starboard side view taken from a ship's boat beside the first funnel of the light cruiser HMS 'Arethusa' (1913) looking aft. The view is from the second funnel to the stern. The decks are under water to the after rangefinder platform and four inch gun. 'Arethusa' hit a mine on 11 February off Felixstowe and ran aground on the Cutler Shoal when the tow broke.
The Cutler Shoal is a rocky shoal which lies about 2.3 miles E of the entrance to Woodbridge Haven and the river Deben.
