A port quarter view of an unidentified drifter anchored alongside the starboard bow of the light cruiser HMS 'Arethusa' (1913). The stern of the light cruiser can be seen at an angle to the bow illustrating the impact from breaking her back. 'Arethusa' hit a mine on 11 February off Felixstowe and ran aground on the Cutler Shoal when the tow broke.
The Cutler Shoal is a rocky shoal which lies about 2.3 miles E of the entrance to Woodbridge Haven and the river Deben.
