The light cruiser HMS 'Cleopatra' (1915) at Devonport.
A port broadside view of the light cruiser HMS 'Cleopatra' (1915) manoeuvring in the Hamoaze, Devonport soon after commissioning. Off her stern on the starboard side are the masts and funnels of the anchored training ships Powerful (1895), a converted first class cruiser, and Powerful II (1897), previously the first class cruiser 'Andromeda' (1897). In the foreground is one of the 'Aurora's cutters attached to the guest boom. A sailor is holding onto the cutter from the gig he is standing in.
Aurora arrived at Devonport on 27 June 1915 and after submarine sweeps and a voyage to Queenstown was docked in No. 2 Dock on 6 July for a refit. She left dock on 20 July and departed for Harwich on 21 July, arriving on 22 July.
The image is slightly hazy, with the left edge bit under exposed.
