A wooden box is suspended over the side at the fore end of the poop. Her red ensign has been hoisted. In the right background is the passenger/cargo liner Cathay (1925). The photographer was taking passage on the Royal Navy heavy cruiser Cumberland (1926) from Singapore to the U.K. at the time. The image is slightly unsharp.
