Lifeboat emergency rations in a gold-coloured, rectangular tin. The lid is separate and has previously been taped shut. The contents are sealed inside with metal foil. An opener is included. Inscribed in black on the lid: 'LIFEBOAT AND RAFT RATION BISCUITS TO MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT REQUIREMENTS 18 BUISCUITS 1 LB APPROXIMATE WEIGHT PACKED 5/63 CARR & CO LTD CARLISLE'
