Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, the base and gadrooned sides are green, the lid has a tinted transfer within a green and gilt with white spots. The transfer shows Britannia mourning at a monument to Nelson surmounted by a bust with flags behind. The plinth is inscribed: 'In Memory of Nelson'.
