Edward VII, 1841-1910, when Prince of Wales
Cast bronze statuette on a marble base decorated with bronze foliage and flowers, depicting Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (1841-1910) as a child. He is shown in sailor suit and a straw hat, his hands in his pockets, after the painting by Franz Xaver Winterhalter in the Royal Collection which was painted for Queen Victoria in late 1846. This is part of the Blewitt Collection of Royal Sailor Commemoratives, purchased and presented by the Friends of NMM in November 1990.
