Box
Base of a box for a portrait plaque. The box is circular and made of lacquered wood. The inside of the box is lined with dark blue paper with a paper label and on the base is a piece of pink paper. The internal label reads 'With my kindest love to my darling Anna W.B.' and the pink paper reads: 'Admiral Sir Edward Brace's medallion portrait, given by him to my mother then Anna Foote H.J.H.' The name looks like Bruce but as there is no officer of that name in the RN during the early 19th century, it is more likely to be Admiral, Sir Edward Brace (1770-1843).
