H.M.S. 'Prince George' launching block
Launching block. A grey-painted, horseshoe-shaped wooden block with a groove round the outside edge. It is inscribed in gilt lettering: 'SUCCESS TO THE PRINCE GEORGE'. HMS 'Prince George' was launched at Portsmouth in 1895 by the Duchess of York.
