Timber retrieved from the wreck site of the ship of the line 'Royal George', which sank at Spithead in 1782. Painted inscription: 'Piece of the ill-fated ship Royal George sunk at Spithead August 9th 1782 Recovd by Colonel C.W. Pasley 1840.'
