H.M.S. 'Thetis' copper bolts
Two copper bolts, one plain the other with washers attached. The bolts are bent and very corroded with barnacles attached. From the wreck of HMS 'Thetis' lost off Cape Frio 5th December 1830 with 800,000 dollars on board. The fittings were recovered from the bottom of Thetis Cove now known as Saco dos Ingléses in May 1962 by Messrs M.H. Cavalcanti de Lacerda. Piedro Correa de Araujo and Luis Marden.
