Medal cast

Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a lifesaving medal. Obverse: An infant genius stands upon a cippus, inscribed 'AMOR', right hand resting on a globe, left hand holding a torch. Behind are oak leaves, bow, arrows, quiver and torch. Inscribed on a ribbon above: 'IN MEMORIA ETERNIAE'. Reverse: Inscription: 'A SOCIETY OF YOUNG LADIES HAVE PRESENTED THIS MEDAL TO LIEUTNT WM PEARSE. R.N. IN TESTIMONY OF THEIR REGARD FOR HIS HEROIC EXPLOITS BY RESCUING THE LIVES OF 12 OF HIS FELLOW CREATURES FROM A WATERY GRAVE'.
