A declaration of the Parliament of the Commonwealth, which gives public thanksgiving for the victory of Blake over Van Tromp. The declaration is framed and is dated Friday 12th August by Henry Scobell, Clark of the Parliament. Printed on the declaration are the following words "A DECLARATION OF THE PARLIAMENT OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF ENGLAND, FOR A TIME OF PUBLIC THANKSGIVING UPON THE FIVE AND TWENTIETH OF THIS INSTANT AUGUST FOR THE GREAT VICTORY LATELY VOUCHED SAFE TO THEIR FLEET AT SEA". The glass on which the declaration sits behind is dirty.
