Nyria
Scale:Unknown. A contemporary half block model of the cutter-rigged racing yacht Nyria(1906). The hull is carved from a solid block of wood(?) and is painted a metallic bronze colour below the waterline with white topsides above to the level of the gunwale. It has a very pronounced sheer with a curved bow running smoothly aft to the ballast keel. The sternpost is raked aft and is fitted with a half elliptical-shaped rudder, above which is a long, narrow and tapering counter stern. The deck is fitted with a single stump mast and bowsprit, all of which are finished a natural wood lightly stained and varnished. The whole model is mounted on a rectangular-shaped mahogany backboard with rounded corners and moulded edge on which is inscribed "Nyria 169 tons Built by Camper & Nicholson's Ltd Gosport 1906"
