A Lascar sailor and a bearded European quartermaster in conversation on board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger liner Canberra (1961). The posed photograph depicts the Lascar pointing to something on the deck and the quartermaster is holding a small screwdriver and other objects. The Lascar is wearing a fairly plain lalchi with a red rhumal and a red hat band, indicating that he is likely to be a Khalassii. Transparencies numbers PCT1093 and PCT1094 were taken on the same occasion.
