A Lascar seaman in uniform standing at the stern of a Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company motor launch while under way off an unknown shoreline. He is possibly a Khalassii as he is wearing a plain red band on his topi and a red rhumal (waist sash) on his blue lalchi, which has some embroidery on it. He is holding the ensign staff which has a Red Ensign flying from it.
