A plan showing the profile of inboard works as fitted to proceed to the East Indies of Plover (1855), an Albacore class wooden 'Crimean' gunboat which was sunk in action on the Pei Ho River during the Second Opium War in 1859. The manning of a bow gun on the vessel by US naval troops sent to take off the ship's wounded represented the first instance of British and American troops fighting alongside one another.
