Gravina (1881); Velasco (1881); Warship; Cruiser

Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the starboard side of the Spanish cruisers 'Gravina' (1881) and 'Velasco' (1881) made entirely in wood with metal fittings and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted tan brown below the waterline, with a narrow cream stripe above and black above the waterline. Fittings include a decorated bow and stern; stump bowsprit, foremast, mainmast and mizzen; forecastle and poop deck enclosed by guard rails; enclosed bridge or pilot house; single stump funnel, painted ochre; provision for a single propeller; and rudder. The model is displayed on a rectangular wooden backboard painted light blue-grey with a narrow wooden frame.
