HMS Bristol (1886); Warship; Torpedo boat

Scale: 1:96. A half block model of the starboard side of the torpedo boat HMS Bristol (1886), made entirely in wood with metal fittings and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted brick red below the waterline and black above. Details include ram bow; long foredeck with small gun and other equipment; elevated bridge or lookout position abaft the foredeck; main deck accommodating superstructure and other fittings all painted grey; four funnels all painted ochre; and small gun aft. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame with bevelled edge. On backboard ‘Bristol’ (missing).
