Equipment model; Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. A model of a Perkin's patent anchor, sanctioned in 1917, and made entirely in aluminium alloy. The shank is a rounded rectangle in section and on one broad face is inscribed in capital lettering "Joseph Wright & Co Ltd Tipton". There is a 'D'-shaped ring at the top of the shank that pivots on a round-headed rivet. The base of the shank swivels through an arc of about 90 degrees, the mechanism being set into a rectangular aperture in the centre of the crown. The crown is a flat, rectangular block and the shank is secured to it by a pair of bars that are riveted transversely to the bottom of the crown. The four round heads of these rivets are seen on the top face of the crown. One broad face of the crown is inscribed in capital lettering "All forgings". The arms are short and rectangular in section and terminate in two vertical smooth-sided flukes.
