Equipment model; Anchor model

Scale: Unknown. A modern model of a Greek or Roman killick anchor made largely from wood and complete with a small lead stock. The main shank is a straight piece of wood, rectangular in section, to which by a lead band, a pair of wooden arms with curved inward faces, mounted at an angle of approximately 45 degrees. The lead stock, which is rectangular in section tapering towards its ends, has a square opening through which the wooden shank passes, the whole of which is held in place by rope lashings. The rope cable is knotted to a ring made from a series of smaller rope cords which is lashed the top of the shank.
