Warship
Scale: 1:24. A sectional model of a two decked warship, showing the method and construction of the hanging knees reinforced with iron straps. The model is largely constructed from stained and polished mahogany, and shows a small section around the midship area of a warship from roughly just above the waterline to the bulwark capping. It includes two full gun ports and one part gun port, with all the internal ceiling planks, waterways and beam shelves connected and surrounding the hanging deck knees.
The knees themselves illustrate three different patterns associated with the different decks, and as such are reinforced in different ways with iron straps. At either end of the section the model has been inscribed with all the individual components making up the frames and planking etc.
