The model is made entirely of stained and polished mahogany and is mounted on its original circular wooden baseboard. The cross trees comprise of a pair of timbers athwart let into a large pair running fore and aft. On the upper face of the larger two timbers is a pair of recessed metal plates with small metal eyes, used for working and securing the fid. W. Rice Esq F.S.A.". There are two other paper labels attached to the model, a small printed label cut out from a catalogue on the athwart timber forward of the heal of the topmast and a larger hand written paper label on the circular base, both of which are illegible.
