Spider card - aircraft compass
Type P.6, spider card
Eight elements, the tip of each is turned down. N point indicated by a cross. Centre of spider is fitted with float dome which incorporates spike for pivot in its base.
Needle: Two needle magnets are mounted below the spider.
Pivot: Inverted type, cup at top of steel stem engages pivot spike in float. Stem attached to silvered brass dome.
