Cutlass

Cutlass, the hilt of the cutlass consists of a black steel half-basket guard with turned edges. The grip is formed from two pieces of wood, which have been riveted to each side of the tang. The straight steel blade is double-edged with a spear point and has a broad groove running from 38mm below the hilt to 280mm. The obverse of the blade is engraved with an arrow above the name 'MOLE', and 'BIRMINGHAM' below. The obverse of the blade is also engraved with a crown motif above the letter 'B' and the number '35' below it, and the crossed sword motif. The reverse of the blade is engraved with a crown motif, the letter 'B' and the number '35' below, a crown motif, the letter 'B' and the number '25' below, as well as the numbers '02' and '00'.
