Liquid compass and binnacle

Liquid compass. A spare binnacle hood is marked ACO0809.1 and can be found in the Whole/Part toggle.

Bowl: Black and grey painted metal bowl with domed glass with brass band over diameter. Inside of bowl painted black with four black lubber lines carried on white plastic strips, set 90 degrees apart. Expansion chamber at base incorporated with glass bottom, filler plug at the side. Verge glass fitted with brass triangular shade which can be rotated in azimuth. Mounted on a dwarf binnacle.

Card: Dia 4.7" (12.0 cm) White palstic ring with black markings, graduated to 360 degrees, attached by wire framewark to black painted float at centre.

Needle: Two needles of flat section mounted below float.

Pivot: Unsighted

Binnacle: Brown painted aluminium. Hood fitted with a circular glazed window with a metal flap. Fitted with vertical cylinder and eight strip quadrantal correctors.
