'Nile' (1839); 'Rodney' (1833); 'London' (1840)

Scale 1:48. Plan showing a 'three-timber' framing profile (disposition) for 'London' (1840), 'Rodney' (1833), and 'Nile' (1839), all 92-gun Second Rate, two-deckers. This plan was superceded by a 'two-timber' framing plan dispatched to the three yards in late 1826 and early 1827 (see ZAZ0257).

This plan illustrates the method of creating the frames and how they are to be joined, using a detailed key and colour code. The dark brown colourwash shows the single timber frames, while the light brown represents frames made with three timbers which make the sides of the ports. The red colourwash shows the frames under the upper deck gunports, and the yellow timbers over the ports are to be bolted together in the same manner as the frame timbers.
