Unidentified 24-gun Sixth Rate (possibly Centaur (1746))
Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines with some alterations to the upper deck sweep ports, and longitudinal half-breadth for a 24-gun Sixth Rate, possibly alterations to the 1741 Establishment with proposals by Sir Jacob Acworth. This plan has been identified in the past for Centaur (1746) as the dimensions match those for her when built by Hugh Blaydes at Hull. This plan has differences to ZAZ3600, which may precede it chronologically - but this plan incorporates the new positionn of the sweep ports. Equally, ZAZ3599, which is for Centaur (1746) and Deal Castle (1746) still includes the lower deck gunports and a greater number of sweep ports on both the lower and upper decks and signed by Joshua Allin, Surveyor of the Navy.
Signed by Jacob E Acworth [Surveyor of the Navy, 1715-1749].
