Possible early draught of 1745 Establishment 24-gun Sixth Rates
Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines with inboard detail, and longitudinal half-breadth for the 1745 Establishment design for 24-gun Sixth Rates. The plan indicates that it was for Garland (1748), but plan ZAZ3606 illustrates that there are differences between the ship's design and this plan. ZAZ3607 is a copy of the approved plan from the 1745 Establishment 24-gun Sixth Rates and even that does not match this plan, even though the dimensions are correct.
This plan includes a shorter quarter deck, although there is a faint pencil outline for its extension, which duly happened for the 1745 Establishment, and the channels are below rather than above the gunports. Garland's named plan has an extended forecastle and the channels are above the gunports. It also ha sweep ports on the lower deck level rather than on both, as indicated in the Establishment plan.
