Seahorse (1748)

Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan with stern board decoration, sheer lines with inboard detail and figurehead, and longitudinal half-breadth for building Seahorse (1748), a modified 1745 Establishment 24-gun Sixth Rate, at Harwich by Mr Barnard. Note the sweep ports for 34 oars. Also note the date 1747 is the Old Style calendar when New Year in England began on 25 March of each year until 1752. Therefore this plan is actually from 1748. A copy of this plan was sent to Mr Barnard on 23 February 1748, the same day that the ship's keel was laid down.

Signed Jacob E. Acworth [Surveyor of the Navy, 1715-1749].
