Ancona (1879)

A whole plate negative. A fair quality slightly distant port very near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Ancona (1879) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has two yards on her foremast and is flying the blue peter. Awnings are rigged near the mizzen mast. A steam launch is close to her accommodation ladder. Tilbury Fort is in the background.
