Arawa (1884)
A whole plate negative. A port broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Arawa (1884) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on each of her fore and main masts and no boat or davits are abreast the bridge. The lifeboats abreast and abaft the funnels are swung out. A screw tug and a steam launch are alongside aft and anothersteam launch is alongside amidships. The Coast Guard Watch Vessel WV.28 (1847) is on the Tilbury shore in the background beyond the bow of the Arawa (1884).
