George Peabody (1867); Pekin (1871)
A whole plate negative. A poor quality starboard near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Pekin (1871) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has two yards on her foremast and is flying the blue peter. She has awnings rigged by the bridge and ahead of the mizzen mast. The paddle tug George Peabody (1867) is at anchor in the foreground. Negatives numbers G1870 and G1930 were taken on the same occasion.
