Great Britain (1843)
A whole plate negative. A slightly distant port side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Great Britain (1843) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has a three masted ship rig with double topsails, single topgallants and royals. She has painted ports and is on charter to John H Flint (Colonial Line of Packets) for a voyage from London to Melbourne. A number of small boats, including a steam screw passenger launch, are in the foreground and Tilbury is in the background.
