A starboard very near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Lake Erie (1900) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames, while serving as Boer War transport number 86. She has troops on deck. An unidentified steam tug wearing the colours of the Gravesend United Steam Tug Co Ltd, known locally as Ring tugs, is alongside forward. The steam passenger launch David Burnett (1893) is alongside aft. Tilbury is in the background.
