Montana (1887)
A 12x10 negative. A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the cargo liner Montana (1887) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is fitted out as a cattle carrier. A steam launch named Alert is alongside forward. In the left background is the Tilbury-Gravesend passenger ferry Carlotta (1893) and drawn up on the Tilbury shore in the right background is the Coast Guard Watch Vessel CGWV.28 (1847).
