A 12x10 negative. A slightly distant port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Montrose (1897) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is serving as Boer War transport No. 93. An unidentified steam launch is alongside and the bow of the tug Storm Cock (1881) is on the right. Tilbury is in the background.
