Governor's flag, Hudson Bay Co
The Governor's flag of the Hudson Bay Co, London. The flag is made of wool bunting, machine and hand sewn with a painted design. It has a linen hoist. A rope and toggle is attached and it has a hand sewn repair. This design was used as the company house flag until 1952. This particular flag was used by the SS 'Pelican'.
A rectangular white flag with the arms of the Hudson's Bay Co: Argent a cross gules between four beavers passant proper. Crest a cap of maintainance gules, turned up ermine, a fox sejant proper. Supporters two elk proper. Motto; 'PRO PELLE CUTEM'.
