Orient (1879)
A 12x10 negative. A port very near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Orient (1879) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has been refitted with a topgallant forecastle and a turtleback poop and has yards on her foremast only. The passenger steam launch Maude (1886) is alongside and rowing skiffs are in the foreground. Tilbury is in the background.
