Orient (1879)
A 12x10 negative. A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Orient (1879) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has short funnels and yards on her foremast and has been refitted with a topgallant forecastle and a turtleback poop. The stern of the paddle tug Vigilant (1874) is on the right and the passenger steam launch Maude (1886) is in the foreground. Tilbury is in the background.
