Orient (1879)
A 12x10 negative. A port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Orient (1879) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has short funnels and yards on her foremast and has been refitted with a topgallant forecastle and a turtleback poop. The steam passenger launch Maude (1886) is alongside and rowing skiffs are in the foreground. Tilbury is in the background.
