Orient (1879)
A half plate negative. A port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Orient (1879) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has short funnels and yards on her foremast and has been refitted with a topgallant forecastle and a turtleback poop. Rowing skiffs are in the foreground. Tilbury is in the background. A copy of a Gould photographic print not in the collection.
